This is the view from about a third down the ridge, where we get out first un-obstructed view of the Pinnacle. Part of Mt. Warning can be seen in the distance.
The high point of our scenic route down to New South Wales was the hike out to the pinnacle. The "official" pinnacle walk brought us to a lookout on the top edge of an escarpment. We then followed the "unofficial" trail down this long narrow ridge and then up an overgrown zigzagging path to the summit of the pinnacle. We had a picnic on the pinnacle and then sat back to enjoy the stunning panoramic views of the countryside below and Mount Warning.

One fellow-bushwalker on the track summed it all up when she said, " Being on top of the pinnacle is as close as you can get to flying without ever leaving the ground."
