The Southbank Dive Shop near our apartment took us on a dive trip to the Solitary Islands, a 5 1/2 hour drive south of Brisbane in the state of New South Wales. Dive Quest was the local dive shop in Mullaway that took us out to the islands and gave us accomodation. Our dive master from Brisbane, Darren, brought along his underwater camera and took these pictures while we were diving !

![]() A 'grumpy' fish peeks out from his hole. They build these deep holes that they sink into when you get too close. |
![]() A black egg cowrie. If you touch it, it retracts it's covering revealing a white shell. |
![]() Little black fish with little white dots. They range in size from 1-4cm tall. There are about a dozen in this picture - can you find them ? |

![]() A, er, red fish. yeah - that's it. |
![]() A red stonefish, also known as a scorpion fish. Touching one of these could ruin your day. |
