Fraser Island is a few hours north of Brisbane and is the largest sand island in the world! The island is covered in a rainforest rooted in sand and surrounded by huge long beaches.

Driving through the forest to get to the other side of the island.

Parking on a 75 mile long beach to cool our toes.

Cooling our toes !

YEEEEHAH!!! Fording one of the freshwater creeks.

The wreck of the Maheno, sinking into the sand and being eaten by the surf.

Inside the Maheno.

Andrea checks out the Maheno.

Andrea, Fiona, Rick and Andy enjoy a picnic at the foot of the coloured sands.

Our shady view during our lovely picnic.

Traffic is light today ...

A Kite following us as we drive along the beach.

A dingo watches us pass by as we make our way back to the ferry.

Dingos on the beach

A great day to float down the creek !
